

Myra was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. For 40 years, she shared a loving marriage with her husband, James Crocker. She found great joy in spending time with her family. She loved reading, watching sports, and faithfully keeping up with all of her grandchildren’s activities and accomplishments. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she was always their biggest supporter.
Myra was an educator for over 20 years as a dedicated teacher and compassionate school counselor. Her last ten years were in the Attalla City School System. She touched the lives of students through her guidance and unwavering support. Throughout her career, she inspired students to reach their full potential, offering not only academic instruction but also encouragement, understanding, and mentorship. Her biggest claim to fame was being a counselor to Mr. Carnell Williams. She was always so proud of how much that young man achieved.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 40 years, James Crocker; her daughter, Andrea Janss (Rick) of Southside, Alabama; her son, Matt Brooks (Wendy) of Southside, Alabama; and her stepson, Jeff Crocker (Jackie) of Reform, Alabama.
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Ethan Janss (Elissa), Sara Janss, Kari Crocker, Madison Brooks, Karli Crocker, Mallory Brooks, and Luke Brooks, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
She is survived by her brothers, Ronald Hickman of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Perry Hickman of Sycamore, Alabama; and her sisters, Rosemary McBrayer of Moody, Alabama, and Elise Ledbetter of Sycamore, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Franklin Hickman, and her mother, Henrietta Phillips.
Myra will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, unwavering love for her family, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
