Nadine Nelson

Funeral Services for Mrs. Nadine Nelson, age of 82 of Attalla, will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel with family and friends officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 2nd, 1941, in Attalla, Alabama, to her parents Preston and Rosie Butler. She attended Curtiston Primary School, Etowah High School, and Keevil Curl School of Beauty. She was a business owner who owned her own Beauty Salon from 1970-1982. She was over the Youth Group at Faith Tabernacle Church. She had a managing role in the Roadrunners Peewee Football program from 1973-2000's. She was part of the Etowah High School Blue Devils athletics program. She was heavily active in her community and local politics throughout her life. Mrs. Nelson loved her family, her grandchildren, sports and dancing. She also enjoyed listening to music, doing hair, painting ceramic Indians, and watching western movies.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia Hobgood; her daughter, Lynn (Tim) Morgan; her daughter-in-law, Shelby Nelson; her grandsons, Matthew Nelson, Daniel Nelson, Jamie Nelson, David Maroney, and Chad (Katie) Morgan; her granddaughters, Latasha (Brian) Stovers and Laura (Chris) Willoughby; her great-grandchildren, Gracee Nelson, Parker Nelson, Macee Nelson, Cayley Nelson, Abbie Nelson, Colton Nelson, Trevor Stovers, Sophie Stovers, Sarah Stovers, Mary Stovers, Landon Willoughby, Lilly Willoughby, Layla Willoughby and Liam Willoughby; her great-great-grandchildren, Waylon Chapman and Wylder Chapman; her two dogs, Queenie and Toot, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Preston and Rosie Butler; her brother and sisters, Ralph Butler, Linda (Ray) Sayre, Betty Jean and Honey Oliver; her husband, Jack Nelson; her son and daughter, Jerry and Pam Nelson; her great-granddaughter, Emily Cone; and her special nephew, Jeff Oliver.

Active Pallbearers will be Chad Morgan, David Maroney, Daniel Nelson, Jamie Nelson, Landon Willoughby, Chris Willoughby, Trevor Stovers and Matthew Morrison.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Shelby and Cayley Nelson, Violet Davis, Brian Stovers, David Maroney, April, Christie, and the ICU Nurses at Riverview Regional Medical Center, and her special great-niece, Patricia Lynn, Martha Jean Florist, Ricky Williams, and the special three heros; who loved her so.
