Patricia Benoit Clayburn, lovingly known as Pat, was born on January 28, 1947, in Newfoundland, Canada. She lived a life filled with love for her family, a passion for the outdoors, and a special tenderness for animals.
Pat worked as a cake decorator at Food World for 28 years, sharing her talent and creativity with those around her. She found joy in spending time in her yard, enjoying the outdoors, and caring for the animals she loved so dearly. Above all, one of her greatest joys in life was her five precious great-grandbabies, who held an irreplaceable place in her heart.
Pat is survived by her Canadian family, a host of niece and nephews in Georgia, son, Christopher (Trena) Clayburn; her two granddaughters, Lora (Lucas) Millhoff and Courtney (Jared) Waits; and her beloved great-grandbabies, McCain, Clayton, Mills, Meade, and Charlee, who brought her immeasurable joy and love.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Randel Clayburn; her son, Michael “Buzz” Clayburn; and her two daughters, Priscilla and Wendy Clayburn.
A special thank you to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice, the staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center and all of the special friends and family who played a vital role in her last days on earth.
Though her family and friends will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Pat’s earthly journey is complete, but her faith assures those who loved her that this is not goodbye forever. She is now at home with her Lord and Savior, and one day, those she loved will see her again.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Freedom Church. A memorial service celebrating Pat’s life will follow at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Freedom Center.
