Richard Brothers

Richard David Brothers, 82, passed away on February 15, 2026. Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel Thursday February 19, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00. A service will follow at 1:00 and is to be officiated by Pastor Brad Mullinax.

David, lovingly known as “Super Dave” to his friends and family, was a loving father brother, son, and family man. He devoted over 30 years of his life to the steel plant where he was referred to as “Crazy Dave”, a man of many talents, and a jack of all trades. He loved football, building anything, fixing everything, slalom skiing, diving off the high dive at Scenic pool, God and county, and going to church. He will be remembered for his loyalty, caring nature, and joy he brought to those around him.

David is preceded in death by his father Winfred Brothers and mother Laura Mae Gilbert.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Jay Brothers and Sherry La Russa, Matt Brothers and wife Lauralea Drummond, daughter Christy Betts, Grandchildren Gabby and Liv, sisters Linda Smith and Ann Hicks, and brother and sister-in-law Buddy Brothers and Joanne Brothers.
