Robert Edgar Overstreet III

Robert was a graduate of Auburn University and of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. It was in Louisville that he met his future wife, Della Jane Dease. They were married on December 27, 1965. Mr. Overstreet was a pastor for 35 years, pastoring churches in Virginia, Georgia and Alabama. He lived his life with a deep love for Jesus Christ and being a witness to others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Overstreet Jr. and Catherine Nordman Overstreet; step-mother, Jewell Overstreet. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Della Dease Overstreet, his two sons, Robert (Wendy) and Nathan (DeeDee); grandchildren, Andrew, Will, Jordan, Katie and Wilson; brothers, Charles (Marcia) and James.

Funeral services will be at 2p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla, AL with Rev. Bobby Bryant officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden, AL.

Pallbearers include James Baker, Gary Brown, Bob Cross, Bobby Lankford, Ray Moore and Wayne Stephens.
