Obituary of Sharon Green
How can I help? What can I do? Those were two questions that Sharon would ask whenever there was a need big or small. Sharon was a Christian and always had a servant’s heart for family, friends and others. Sharon Maske Green (68) of Hokes Bluff passed away January 21, 2022 – Rejoining her late husband of almost 50 years in their eternal home. She was preceded in death by her husband: Melvin Junior Green, her father Lewis Maske, her mother Maureen Maske, her sisters Teresa Watson and Kathy Shadwrick, & her niece Melinda Underwood. Left to cherish her memories & celebrate her beautiful life are: her beloved son Michael Shane Green, (Wanda Warren Green), her grandsons Blake Green (Lauren Green), Dax Green (Claudia Haynes), her brother Timothy Maske, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Sharon was born in Detroit Michigan. She met her late husband Melvin Junior Green while working at The Sombrero in Gadsden. She married the love of her life at the age of 18. Melvin & Sharon had an amazing love story. She was later employed by Gulf States Steel & she retired after many years of service. She was a graduate of Gadsden City High School & later earned her degree in Civil Engineering from Gadsden State Community College. Sharon became a Master Gardener and went on to open her own business “Greensleeves Nursery LLC” of Gadsden. She designed many beautiful residential and commercial landscapes throughout Gadsden and Etowah County. Sharon and Melvin were very generous; and donated regularly to St. Jude and other charitable organizations. Their generosity expanded into helping individuals in need whenever they could as part of their personal ministry and love for people. In the course of her business, Sharon gifted many beautiful poinsettias to local nursing homes at Christmas. Sharon loved reading, cooking, crafting, and The Beatles. She loved talking politics & she loved a good debate. She was feisty, petite, and loved her family “so big”. Memorial Service will be at 3:30p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2021 at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:30 until 3:30p.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.morganfuneralchapel.com for the Green family.
