Funeral service will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Thursday December 29, 2016 at 2:00 P.M.

Nephew Jackie Duncan and granddaughter, Densie Salters will officiate the service. Graveside service and Interment following at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

Irene was a member of New Union FCM Church, and had a deep love for her Lord. She saw God’s artwork throughout creation and especially enjoyed flowers. Granny delighted in filling her home with her grandchildren, the sounds of her family’s laughter, and always treated her guests and family with hot biscuits and cakes. In her spare time, Irene enjoyed painting, drawing and all other artwork. In years past, Irene had enjoyed trips with her husband Troy, or as she would say “My Troy” and later on traveled with the Senior Center.

Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Edward Duncan; daughter, Thelma Jean Duncan; Parents, Luther and Carrie Simmons; Brother, Bud Simmons and sister, Mary Duncan.

She leaves behind her daughter, Patricia Morton (husband, Earl); sons, Dennis Duncan (wife, Donna) and Alan Duncan (wife, Robin); daughter,Nancy Montgomery (husband, Ron); grandchildren, Lawayne Morton, Deanna Morton, Jeremy Duncan, Russell Quinn, Trent Montgomery, Christopher Duncan, Denise Salters, Jessica Duncan, Anna Montgomery, Allison Montgomery, Dylan Duncan; great grandchildren, Hannah Morton, Andrew Morton, Brooklyn Morton, Troy Patrick Gaskins, Alyssa Duncan, Little Troy Duncan, Thomas Duncan, Zelda Duncan and Aleah Giuka.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the hospice of Marshall County.Special thanks are extended to Hospice of Marshall County and all of our extended family and friends for your compassionate thoughts and prayers

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday for one hour prior to the service in the chapel, from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M.
