

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Thomas Edward “Eddie” Smith Jr. age 67 of Rainbow City who died October 24, 2018. Brother Larry Garrard will officiate. Burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.
Eddie is a 1969 graduate of Etowah High School and a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church. He never met a stranger and everyone he met got a nickname. Eddie loved Etowah and Alabama football. He was a GTO enthusiast and an avid fisherman. He loved living on the Coosa River. Eddie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by:
Deana Smith (wife), Ashby Daniels (Tim), Eric Smith (Tracey), Krystin Gentry (Mark), daughter-in-law Kristie Smith, David Smith, Kandie Smith, Jason Smith (Emily); eleven grandchildren Ada and Lucie Daniels; Dalton Smith (Madison) and Myia Hope Gore (Mason); Austin, Addison, and Bailey Smith; Kynleigh and Kyla Noah; Lily and Baylor Smith; and one great-grandchild Brynlee Grace Smith.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Smith (Jettie), his sister Patricia Ann Smith, and his step-son Ricky Smith Jr. “Pie Baby.”

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of his daughter Krystin Gentry, or to the National Down Syndrome Society in honor of his granddaughter Lucie Daniels.
