Timothy Frederick

Timothy Lee Frederick passed away on June 14, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife Liz, their children Erin Marotta (Chris), Lindsey (Melissa), and Clay; his siblings Mark (Judy) and Nancy McDonald (Joe); nine grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Jane, his sister Cindy, and his brothers Michael and Andrew.

Tim was born on September 11, 1954. He graduated in 1972 from Walker High School. He married his wife Liz on July 14, 1978.He was a loving husband and father.

Tim spent much of his life aiding missionary work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, stopped only by his failing health. Often people would give him broken or unwanted objects, such as bowling pins, dollhouses, old glass jugs, and even spoons!, and he would repair and repurpose them to give them new lives for other people to love. He also loved to bake. Anyone who knew him well can remember his cakes or cookies. In fact certain young people have fond memories of his “sneak over” treats.

Tim had a unique sense of humor, often sharing jokes and puns which were beyond terrible but still charming. They were granddad jokes! He also enjoyed flowers and gardening, though the only thing that succeeded in his garden were cucumbers that he used to make pickles.

Tim was greatly loved and will be terribly missed.

Tim’s memorial service will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 2001 Noccalula Rd, Gadsden, AL 35904. Visitation is from 1-2:15pm. Services will be held at 2:30.
