Virgil Lee Moore

Virgil L. Moore age 82 of Attalla passed away January 12, 2024. Funeral Service will be at 2pm Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Bro. Roger Beshears officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 until 2pm. Burial at Mortons Chapel in Altoona.

Mr. Moore retired from Goodyear in 1998. Virgil loved to hunt and fish, build things, pickup pine cones, and go dinosaur hunting with the grandkids. Mr. Moore was always trying to help anyone he could and had the biggest heart. Virgil loved animals and was known to take in any strays he came across. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Chester and Josie Moore; daughters, Kathy Moore and Dana Childs; and 7 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Lemons Moore; son, Steve (Beverly) Moore; step children, Melina Jones, Butch (Mary) Diffee, and Prissy Diffee; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; special nephew, Mark Rakestraw; and his best dog, Bama.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital, ASPCA, or St Jude’s Hospital.
