Vivian Arthell Dupree

Vivian Arthell Thurmond Dupree, 93, 0f Gadsden died at 10 AM on Dec. 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and C.S. Thurmond; husband, Herschel G. Dupree; brothers Otice, Ollon, Cordell and Herschel Thurmond.; sisters Vernell Bowen, Lura Smith and Ovelle Starnes.

She is survived by sons, Michael (Patty) Dupree of Humble, Texas, Steven Dupree of Biloxi, Mississippi, Timothy (Patti) Dupree of Prairieville, Louisiana and Shannon Vaughn of Gadsden.; grandchildren, Derek, Lauren and Kevin Dupree, Kirsten Vaughn; nephews Herschel and Monty Thurmond, Don Thurmond, David and Jon Bowen; nieces Shirley Thomas, Sherry Lynn Thurmond, Kimberly Dupree and Daina Bowen Pittman; brother in law, Tommy Dupree and several cousins.

Mrs. Dupree was a photographer, private duty sitter and certified in Home Health. She was a longtime member of Dwight Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Dwight Baptist Church from 10 AM- 11AM on Sat. Dec. 10, 2016 with a memorial service to follow. Rev. Daryl Nichols will be officiating. There will not be a graveside service Cremation services were provided by Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
