Walter Guinn Ward

Walter was employed by Gulf States Steel for 39 years. After retiring, he worked for Coosa Millworks and Spring Lab. A loyal member of Rainbow Presbyterian Church, he loved his church family and always looked forward to the time he spent with them. Two of his favorite pastimes were watching drag racing and, of course, Alabama football. He was an humble soul who extended kindness and generosity to all he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rewis and Ollie Ward; son, Freddie Ward and brother, Justin Ward.

Walter is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kay Ward; daughter, Freida Mooney (Scott); daughter in law, Janice Ward; grandson, Waylon Mooney; granddaughter, Whitney Ward; and his Pomeranian girls, Sophie and Sadie who are going to miss him very much.

The family would like to thank Brandon, Payton, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Bryan and Leah with Enhabit Hospice who were very helpful and supportive at this time.
