Funeral will be at 2:00pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Morgan Funeral Chapel for William Aaron (Ed) Lewis, 94,of Stamford, Texas who Passed away on May 17, 2018. Chris Gallagher and Kevin Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Keener, Alabama . Morgan Funeral Chapel will be directing the service.
Mr. Lewis served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1944-1946. He received the World War II Victory Medal, 233rd AAFBU (Army Air Force Base Unit) Certificate of Military Service and ATO Med Good Conduct Medal. He received an Industrial Management degree from the University of Alabama and for more than 30 years worked as an insurance adjustor before retiring to Gadsden. He was involved in civic organizations such as the Etowah Historical Society, Northeast Alabama Genealogical Society, Sons of the American Revolution, Elliott Senior Citizens Club and Greenwood Cemetery Committee in Keener. He was the author of 4 genealogy books on his and his wife’s families as well as numerous research projects on area cemeteries and other families.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Richards Lewis.
He is survived by daughters, Deborah Earles of Haskell, Texas and Kathran Churchill of Abilene, Texas; sisters, Robbie Parker of La Grange, Georgia and Sue Hudgins of Gadsden ; brother, Ray Lewis of Gadsden ; grandsons, Clay Churchill, Aaron Earles, Chris Churchill, Cole Earles and Chase Churchill as well as nine great grandchildren all of Texas.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:00pm Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
