Bill was born at the Holy Name of Jesus hospital in Gadsden, Alabama and was born with Spina Bifida. The nurse told momma to take him home and love him because he wasn’t expected to live but he fooled everybody. He died on September 16, 2019 at the age of 72 ½ years old. Isn’t it amazing what the Lord can do?
During his childhood, he had several operations on his spine and ankles. We never once heard him complain or say, “Why me!” He accepted his Spina Bifida and lived to the fullest of his ability.
Bill was a life-long member of The Salvation Army in Gadsden, Alabama. One of his greatest joys was ringing the bells at Christmas. He enjoyed meeting and greeting all the people who came by his kettle. He loved people and never met a stranger. He rang the bells for years until his health gave out and was put in a nursing home.
We know he is walking tall in heaven tonight. His back is straight, his ankles are straight, and he doesn’t need that walker or wheelchair anymore.
We miss you brother, but we know we will see you again one day.
We love you brother!
