Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Willie Sue Meadows who went to her eternal home in Heaven January 13, 2021. Rev. Terry Tibbs and Rev. Eddie Stevenson will officiate. Graveside service to follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
Sue was born February 14, 1929 and was the eighth of nine children. She graduated from Ashville High School. She accepted Christ at a early age and never wavered in her faith. She was a pastors wife and lived her life serving the Lord and others. She had a special love for people and always tried to help when possible. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and also had a special love for Damascus Baptist Church. She was so loved and will be deeply missed. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Norman Meadows, of 54 years. Two granddaughters, Lisa Perry and Stacy Stevenson. Her parents, Rev. Lawrence and Emma Wood and all of her siblings who she longed to see. Florence Stevenson, Tom Wood, John Wood, Elmus Wood, Willard Wood, Clara Mae Hyatt, Jean Criswell, and Coy Wood.
She is survived by her son Rev. Dan and Debra Meadows and her daughter Kaye and Gerald Guffey. Five grandchildren, Rachel Cater, Jay (Holley) Meadows, Amanda Fore, Leah (Jonathan) Loyd and Andrea (Adam) Sullivan. Sixteen great grandchildren, Corey, Madi, Haley, Noah, Kaylee, Mattie, Michael, A.J., Emma, Rylan, Eli, Kieran, Alex, Ainsley, Collin and Annie Kaye. She is also survived by a sister in law, Betty Dyer and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family.
Special thanks to Marshall Medical South, Dr. Jeremy Goodwin and staff. Jerry Tinsley at Oak Landing and all of the special workers. Ruby and Richard and all her friends at Steele Senior Center. Her coffee and cookie friends Brenda, Mike, and Linda, who Mom loved dearly and was so good to her. Also like to thank her friend John Bell and Bro. Terry for all his visits and phone calls. A special thanks to her beautician and friend Betty Cornelius who she loved dearly.
Visitation will be at Morgan Chapel prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. for friends
