Curtis Gene Schiefer

Curtis Gene Schiefer (71) of Attica passed Saturday, February 13, 2016 at his home. He was born December 16, 1944 in Tiffin to the late John and Nema (Spencer) Schiefer. Casey was a graduate of Attica High School, class of 1963 and spent his life farming which he truly loved to do. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he had served as trustee and on church council, Venice Township Trustee and served on the AVR fire board. He was a member of the Attica Hee Haw Gang and was the character “Goosy Lucy”. Mr. Schiefer enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and tailgating at home and watching his grandson play for Michigan State University.

Casey is survived by his wife: Irene (Nagel) Schiefer who he married May 30, 1965, 4 daughters: Wendi (Toby) Hartbarger of Waterville, OH, Amy (Scott) Pifher of North Auburn, Debbie (Dennis) Reer of Attica and Kelly (Greg) Bordner of Attica, 1 son: Dan (Niki) Schiefer of Attica, 13 grandchildren: Kelsy and Jake Hartbarger, Courtney and Claudia Pifher, Emily, Joseph, and John Reer, Ashley, Jamie and Valerie Bordner and Lilly, Evan, and Thomas Schiefer, sister: Hope (Dave) Reising of Attica and nephew: TSgt Scott Siesel of CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 grandchildren: 1 infant grandchild and Derrick and Zachary Schiefer.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Attica with Pastor Edward Hunker officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica. Burial will be in the Attica-Venice Twp Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or AVR through the funeral home.
