

Ellsworth H. DeVaughn (90) of Willard who spent most of his life near Attica passed away Tuesday July 12, 2016 at Mercy Hospital of Willard. He was born November 24, 1925 in Seneca County to the late Victor H. and Cora (Saum) DeVaughn. Mr. DeVaughn was a graduate of Attica School, class of 1943. He farmed most of his life and worked for Sunrise Coop for over 22 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Willard but spent most of his life at the Attica United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher. Mr. DeVaughn was a member of the Attica Fair Board for many years and served in most of the offices, Reed Township Trustee, Seneca County Farm Bureau, former Attica Grange and was the last original trustee at Omar Chapel.
Mr. DeVaughn is survived by his wife Carol S. (Armstong) DeVaughn who he married August 25, 1956, son: Timothy W. (Valerie) Devaughn of Martin, Ohio, 3 daughters: Jane (Harold) Holmer of Attica, Linda (Charles) Sager of Tiffin and Patti (Rick) Cassidy of Attica, 3 grandchildren: Stephanie and Scott DeVaughn and Dan Holmer, 5 step grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 13 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Roger Burdell “RB” DeVaughn, sister: Mildred J. Null and an infant Brother.
The family of Ellsworth “LZ” DeVaughn invite their friends to join them in a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 2:00PM at Omar Chapel on St. Rt. 4 north of Attica, with an open house after the service until 4:00PM. The service will be a eulogy and family memories with the open house being a time for reminiscing so come to share a laugh or a tear at “LZ”s cookie table, casually remembering 90 years of life and 60 years of marriage with the family.
