Geraldine G Thornton

Geraldine “Gerry” G. Thornton (95) of Attica passed Monday, April 18, 2016 at her home. She was born January 15, 1921 in Attica to the late Ben and Helen (Schreiner) Keller. She was a graduate of Attica High School, class of 1939 and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Attica. She also was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Attica American Legion, Just Friends Club and the Fire Flames and enjoyed crocheting, reading and being outdoors.

Mrs. Thornton was married May 26, 1942 to Orrin “Bub” E. Thornton who preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by her son: John E. Thornton of Attica, daughter: Jacqualin (Arnold) Stephens of Attica and son-in-law: John King of Attica. 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Jane King, and sister: Irene Martin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday April 22, 2016 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church Attica . Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, the Rosary will be prayed at 1:30PM at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica. Burial will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Attica , OH . In Lieu of flowers Memorial may be made to Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church or Heartland Hospice through the funeral home.
