

Harold J. Davenport (74) of Attica passed Sunday, January 08, 2017 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky. He was born March 21, 1942 in Green Springs to the late Lewis L. and Helen M. (Ward) Davenport. Mr. Davenport was a graduate of Green Springs High School, Class of 1961, and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from Whirlpool and retired as assist Police Chief from the Green Springs Police Department in 2000. He was a member of the Bellevue Eagles Post 490 and the Green Springs VFW Post 6067 and enjoyed gardening, woodworking and traveling.
Mr. Davenport is survived by his Fiancé: Edna Beamer of Attica, daughter: Darlene (Dale) Selvey of Clyde, 3 brothers: Eldon Davenport of East Brewton, AL, Sanford (Starr) Davenport of Sandusky and Marvin (Barbara) Davenport of Fremont, sister: Beverly (James) Barr of Vickery, Oh as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Donald H. Davenport.
Friends will be received on Wednesday January 11, 2017 from 2-8 PM, at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Attica United Methodist Church. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Clyde at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday with military rites being provided by Seneca County United Veterans Council. Memorial may be made to Stein Hospice Church through the funeral home.
