

Helen (Mohr) Reynolds Everett (95) formerly of Attica and Tiffin area, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Evangelical Home of Saline, Saline, MI. She was born May 19, 1921 in Attica to the late Rev. Jett F. and Lillian (Brown) Mohr. Mrs. Everett joined the Heidelberg facility in 1943, the year of her graduation from the liberal arts college. She headed the Home Economics Department and was dean of women and associate dean of students before becoming dean of institutional research in 1971 and retired June 30, 1984. She received her master’s degree from The Ohio State University in Home Economics. In 1978 Mrs. Everett was elected to a one year term as president of the 115,000 member Ohio Baptist Convention. She also served as a trustee and headed the Concern Committee and Division of Christian Service and Concerns. In Tiffin, Helen was a member of the Seneca County Community Council and the board of the Tiffin Seneca United Way, the Family Counseling Service and Info Center Information and Referral Service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Attica where her father was pastor for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Everett is survived by several nieces and nephews: Nieces: Lori (David) Buck of Lampasas, TX, Christine (Stephen) Rathweg of Houston, TX, Lillian (Dick) Mitchell of Defiance, OH, Kathleen Reynolds of Ypsilanti, MI, Diana (Mark) Wilkerson of Mansfield, OH and Barbara Hood of Cincinnati, OH. Nephews: Kevin (Debbie) Mohr of Bluffton, OH, Steven (Donna) Mohr of Bucyrus, Douglas (Barbara) Reynolds of Warren, OH and Donald (Cheryl) Reynolds of Napoleon, OH. Stepdaughter: Karen Lewis of Baltimore, MD and step granddaughter: Amy Lewis of Maine. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband: Lloyd F. Reynolds who she was married to for 35 years, then Glenn D. Everett who she was married to for 10 years. Brothers: Robert and William Mohr and sister: Betsy B. Reynolds.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Mohr and Rev. Bob Adelsperger officiating. Burial will be in the Attica Venice Township Cemetery, Attica. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica.
