Ila M. Schank

Ila M. Schank (82) of Republic passed Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo. She was born in Attica on May 24, 1933 to the late Russell and Alberta (Barnhart) Carry. Mrs. Schank was retired from Pioneer Rubber in Attica and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time with her family and being at home. Mrs. Schank married Leon J. Schank on January 26, 1952. They were married for 52 years before his death in 2004.

Mrs. Schank is survived by her son: Joe (Rita) Schank of Republic, 3 grandchildren: Lee (Lindsay) Schank of Tiffin, Amanda (Justin) Nowak of Tiffin and Luke Schank of Republic, great-grandson: Owen Nowak. Brother: Don (Liz) Carry of Republic and sister in law: Marge Carry of Elmore, along with several nieces and nephews and grand dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: John Schank, brother: Earl Carry and sister: Dorothy Grose.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica with visitation being held from 3-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Attica.
