Leon J Miller

Leon J. Miller, 96, of Republic died Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Willows of Willard. He was born December 30, 1919 in Reed Township to the late Joseph and Amelia (Bischoff) Miller. Mr. Miller farmed and was a member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church. He volunteered at Community Hospice Care in Tiffin, enjoyed reading and watching sports and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Mr. Miller enjoyed visiting with folks whenever he had a chance and loved spending time with his family.

Mr. Miller was married August 24, 1946 to Rita (Elmlinger) Miller who preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by one daughter: Sr. Ritamarie Miller, OSF/T of Toledo, three sons: Leon H. (Esther) Miller and Eugene C. (Jane) Miller of Attica, and Gerald C. (Jolene) Miller of Republic. He had nine grandchildren: Emily Forehand, Leslie Smith, Rodney Miller, Brad Miller, Melissa Kneisley, Kimberley Ferguson, Mari Miller, Brian Miller and Jude Miller and four great-grandchildren: Alex and Jake Forehand, and Max and Ava Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Harold Miller, and sister, Tillie Grover.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church, Bellevue, with Fr. Paul A. Fahrbach officiating. Burial will follow at Reed Assumption Cemetery, Bellevue. Family will receive friends Thursday from 3-8 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service being held at 2:30 p.m. at Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 295 W. Tiffin Street, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to Reed Assumption Cemetery Endowment Fund or A.V.R. EMS through the funeral home.
