ALFRED J. PRATT April 11, 1942 – JANUARY 10, 2020

Alfred John Pratt, 77 years of age died Friday, January 10, 2020 in Auburn, California. He was born on April 11, 1942 in Brookfield, Massachusetts to Leon and Ilsa Pratt. Alfred was retired from engineering and management for Carrier- United Technologies, a job he loved, after 39 years of service.

Alfred is survived by his wife Phyllis Cox, brothers Alan Pratt (Connie) of West Brookfield, MA and Robert Pratt (Janice) of Ware, MA; daughters Emily J. Pratt of Portland, OR, and Lisa Pratt O’Mara (John) of Richmond, VA; step-daughters Tammy Kornelis (Cliff) of Sacramento, CA and Wendy Sayers of Meadow Vista, CA; grandchildren Eleanor Abbert of Portland, OR, Kieran and Jack O’Mara of Richmond, VA, and step-granddaughter Tiffany Sayers of Los Angeles, CA.

Alfred enjoyed life and spread that joy to those around him. He was a gifted storyteller who reveled in sharing his humor with friends, family, and anyone within earshot. He never met a stranger. Alfred was most at home working with his hands; applying his skills and knowledge to building and fixing just about anything mechanical. Alfred will be greatly missed as he touched many lives with his laughter and enthusiasm for life.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, January 24 at New Auburn Cemetery, 1040 Collins Drive, Auburn, CA 95604 (Placer County). A reception will follow at the Auburn Moose Lodge (No. 2264), 250 Sacramento St., Auburn, CA 95603. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Auburn Moose Lodge, Attention: Olin Bycroft.
