Bill Wayne Elzy

Bill married Barbara (Unruh) Elzy August 11, 1967. He worked at the Corps of Engineers and HUD putting in 30 years of service. He then worked for Sam’s Club for 6 years. Bill’s friendly spirit and willingness to help significantly impacted others throughout his life. His sense of humor and good-hearted teasing will be missed by those who loved him.

During his last two years, Bill devoted much of his time and strength to being “Papa” to his granddaughter, Anna, whom he greatly adored.

He was preceded in death by his father; mother and stepfather, Louise and George Barrows; and son, Ricky.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara; his son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Amanda Elzy; granddaughter, Anna; sons from a previous marriage, Ken Barrows, Billy, and Gary, as well as numerous in-laws and friends that Bill considered to be his family.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel of Auburn, 1101 Auburn Ravine Rd, on Saturday, July 9 at 1pm. There is no visitation and graveside services are private. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse/Operation Christmas Child.
