Brenda Sue McCoy

Loving and devoted wife, mother and friend, Brenda Sue McCoy, of Auburn, CA, passed away on May 19, 2026 at the age of 78. Brenda was born on May 13, 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama to John & Reba Martin. When she was a teenager, Brenda moved to California with her mother and sister. In her early 20’s she began working at Pacific Bell. Over the next 30 years with the telecommunications company, she made lifelong friendships and met her husband, Harold. They were married May 2, 1987. They spent the next 39 years being by each other’s side, through thick and thin, devoted to loving each other.

Those who knew Brenda know she was a bundle of feisty energy always up for the next adventure. She loved hard and laughed even louder. Her smile and hugs could make anyone’s day better. She enjoyed being the main event and decorating every corner of a room, for every holiday or just because. She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers and Elks Lodge. Proudly taking on roles like president and secretary. She was part of the Elks RV club and enjoyed traveling around with Harold and her RV friends. She found joy in many things, but her main joy was her grandchildren. She loved being a grandma more than any role she ever had.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; daughter Alex (Aaron) Zimmerman, their 3 children; step-daughter Tammie (Josh) Ruzic and their 5 children. She also leaves behind an amazing and supportive group of extended family and friends.

A celebration of her joyful and vibrant life will be held at a later time.
