

Mr. Cook served his county in the Army during the Korean War. He received his BA Degree from Los Angeles State College in 1953 and a Masters Degree in 1958.
Mr. Cook moved to Auburn from Southern California in 1965 to assume the position of Principle of E.V. Cain school in Auburn. He had been a teacher for nine years in San Marino and a principal of Garvey High School for three years before the move north. He remained in the Auburn School District as a principal and later as Assistant Superintendent until 1975. He became Superintendent of the Loomis Union School District and served there for ten years. In 1985, he retired from the public school business, having served proudly for 32 years. He then became Vice President of Computer Utilization Incorporated where he worked for 23 years, until the family held corporation was sold in 2001.
He is survived by Kathleen Cook, his wife of 32 years, his sons Kenneth Cook and family of Vallejo, Brian Cook of Sacramento, his daughters Kathie Butts and family of Montana, Karin Heard and family of Auburn, Kelly Carter and family of Florida, Jeanine Cook and family of Auburn, Randi Swisley and family of Auburn, Cherie Sutherland and family of Auburn, his 12 grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild who is due to enter this world in October.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on April 9th, at 1:00pm at The First United Methodist Church of Loomis, 6414 Brace Road, Loomis, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers the family has requested remembrances be sent to "Loaves and Fishes", P.O. Box 2161 Sacramento, CA. 95812 for drug rehabilitation programs, or The Sequoia National History Association, HCR 89 Box 10, Three Rivers, CA. 93271.
