

Carol May Ormsby passed away peacefully in her home in Christian Valley and entered Heaven’s gates on July 22, 2022. She lived a long life of 91 years after being born in Oakland, California January 14th, 1931. She graduated in 1948 from Placer High School. Afterwards she married and lived in Orange, California where she raised her family of four children.She returned to Auburn later in life to be close to her sisters.
She was a faithful and much loved member of Pioneer Methodist Church in Auburn - so much so that while the church held virtual meetings she learned how to use Zoom to attend! She had a very strong work ethic and worked as a secretary. She continued working part-time after retirement until she was 80 years old . She was an active member of several local Granges and served as their secretary for many years. Carol was very dedicated to her family, and committed her life to loving them.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents Clarence and May Ormsby, brothers Charlie and William Ormsby, sister Rosalie Jayes, ex-husband Jack Tefertiller, son Michael Tefertiller and grandson Martin Tefertiller.
She is survived by her daughter Carla Conover and husband, Paul, daughter Laura Jean Napolitano and husband Kent Brownlee, son Craig Tefertiller, grandchildren Joshua Harper and wife Sarah, Harmony Giannandrea and husband Dennis, Ross Conover and wife Adeline, Anna Pennington and husband William, great-grandchildren Aaron Harper, Destiny Boger, Rebecca Boger,Timothy Giannandrea, and great-great grandson Leviticus, “Levi”, Peet. Also, her beloved sister Marian Goulart, numerous nieces and nephews, and by her dear friend Richmond Johnson.
Carol was strong, fiercely independent and generous with what she had.. She always put others first. All who knew her knew of her love for children, Elvis Presley, gardening, animals, and all things green.
Therefore, to honor her, at services on Friday August 12, please consider wearing something green. The services include a visitation from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at Chapel of the Hills , then a graveside service at Newcastle Cemetery at 12:00PM.
