Charles W. Mankin Born in Holdenville, OK in 1927. Passed away in Meadow Vista, CA on October 8, 2019. Charles at the age of 8 his family moved to the Great Plains of New Mexico, where they farmed the land. They endured the Grasshopper Plaque, the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. He had two sisters, Juanita and June, two brothers JD and Cleon. Charlie was the the last of his family members. Charles is survived by his wife Charlotte, together they had four children. Cheri Smith (Jim), Michelle Mankin Mee, Christopher Mankin (Karen) and Bill Mankin deceased. 10 grandchildren, 2 deceased and 14 great grandchildren. Charlie graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended New Mexico Agriculture and Mining College. After serving in the Army during the Korean War he moved to California where he was a floor layer and later became a Master Cabinet Maker, mentoring many young men who would become future cabinet makers. He loved wood working, leather craft, gardening, fishing, camping and training German Shepherds with Charlotte. But most of all be loved his family. There will be a Graveside Service on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the New Auburn Cemetery 1040 Collins Drive Auburn, CA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held a later date.
