Charlotte Wilson Patty

Charlotte Wilson Patty went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2020. Charlotte was born September 25, 1924 to Robert Lee Wilson and Helen Henderson Wilson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Ok-lahoma City and was a 1942 graduate of Classen High. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she pledged Chi Omega Sorority. The soror-ity provided dates for the cadets stationed at the Naval Air Training facility in Norman, Oklahoma. When a group of cadets came to pick up their dates Charlotte said,“ If I’m going to that dance I want to go with the tall one”. The tall one was Duncan Patty and they married in March of 1945 and were happily married for almost 71 years. During those years Duncan and Char-lotte traveled widely and visited all 7 continents, were involved in their communities and churches wherever they lived and enjoyed many lifelong friendships.

Charlotte was a loving wife and mother who raised four children. She was a committed Christian who served by teaching Sunday School and in Bible Study Fellowship. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed gardening and entertaining and was an amazing cook and decorator. Her other in-volvements included PEO and DAR.

In 1961 the family moved to the Tejon Ranch in Lebec, California. While there Charlotte and a friend ran a small business doing interior design for both homes and businesses. When Duncan retired from the ranch in 1985 they moved to Auburn, Ca

There she used her skills in design and decorating to create their dream home where she has lived for the past 35 years. Charlotte was predeceased by her son Jeffrey and her daughter Liza and her beloved Duncan. She is survived by her son David (Ceslie) and her daughter Pam Tweet (Russell), 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Our Mimi was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

A Graveside service for family only will be held Friday, October 16th.
