Dale Roger Peterson

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of a true gentleman, Dale Roger Peterson, of Auburn, California who passed away on March 2nd, 2024, at the age of 85 due to complications from Alzheimers. Born on a wintry April 7th, 1938, in Roland, Iowa, Dale's life unfolded amidst the serene backdrop of his family's farm. Growing up tending to the family's farm and milking cows, he gained a deep understanding of the values of hard work and dedication.

Dale's professional journey, spanning 27 years at Bethlehem Steel in the metallurgical department ended with their closure but he then began an academic pursuit of design and construction practices at Cerritos College which culminated in the construction of a cherished home in Auburn. A stalwart of endurance, Dale triumphed in the Tevis Cup five times and played a pivotal role in Franscico’s vet check for three decades. He truly cherished the outdoors and actively contributed to the upkeep and preservation of hiking paths.

Dale's love story with his wife Margery lasted for 55 years, creating a family he adored. Together, they built a legacy of enduring love and cherished moments that would forever be etched in the hearts of their adoring family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother Ella Peterson, father Marion Peterson, older brother Don Peterson, brother-in-law Brett Young, sister-in-law Betty Peterson, and his grandson, Luis Sardinas.

He is survived by his wife Margery Peterson, brother David Peterson, sister Mary Young, sister Carolyn Migotti, son Kenneth Peterson (Denise), daughter Sheri Sardinas (Ignacio), and granddaughter Marta Garcia Sardinas (Alberto).

A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, California, on Friday, April 5th, at 10 AM, with a celebration of life on Sunday, April 7th, from 1 to 6 PM at 810 Conifer Lane, Auburn, California. In gratitude for the support during these trying times, Dale's legacy lives on in the hearts of those touched by his extraordinary spirit. May his journey find eternal peace.
