Damond was born on September 23, 1936. He married his wife Aldonna on March 9, 1963, and with this marriage, he also adopted her 4 children Jill, Jim, Judy, and Jeff. Together Damond and Aldonna had 3 more daughters, Diane, Debbie, and Dina. Together they built an incredible life. They moved to Danville CA in 1971 and lived there until 1997, they then moved to Meadow Vista CA where they enjoyed 26 years of Holidays and fun, with their 7 children and spouses, their 19 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
The time in Meadow Vista saw so many fun and crazy family events and even a couple of Weddings on the property. He was the kind of man that nothing got in the way of family. If you needed him he was in his truck and on his way, whether it was to fix your car, pick you up, or even drive all the way to Tucson AZ to bring his daughter and her children home to California. He was the most giving man and never asked for much. He had amazing life stories to tell and we treasured those stories.
He loved the outdoors and you could always find him fixing something, mowing his 3 and a half acres, or helping someone with some project, he could fix anything and did. Putting a roof on his daughter's home or rebuilding that 1967 Mustang with his grandson.
He was probably the most proud of the 1927 Willy's Knight that he restored from a pile of rusted junk (as his daughters will tell you) to the most amazing show car, and he had the trophies to prove it. He wasn't done there, his kids purchased from a family member a Willy's Jeep and he took the time to restore that too. It also brought him some work in his retirement from people in the community wanting him to work on their Willy's
He will missed by so many and those of you who knew him personally will know exactly why! When they made this man they definitely broke the mold, there will never be another man like him! He lived life to the fullest and loved unconditionally just the same!
