Edward was born and spent his first two years in Denver, Colorado. His family moved to Los Angeles and eventually to Burlingame, California where he attended grade school, then went on to San Mateo High School where he excelled in baseball and other sports.
After graduation in 1942, he joined the US Army. After training, he was stationed in New Guinea and then the southern Phillipines.
When he returned in 1946 he joined his father working for the City of Paris, San Francisco, in the boys and men’s clothing department.
He married Wanda Jean Thompson and had two sons, Patrick and James. Edward opened his own men’s clothing business in Palo Alto in 1953 in Town and Country Village. In 1972 he married his current wife Barbara Seligson and moved to Menlo Park. Some years later he moved his store to Stanford Shopping Center and was very successful until his retirement. Ed and Barbara moved to Roseville, and later Auburn, in 1996 to be closer to their children.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara, and his two sons James and Patrick. He is also survived by stepson John Seligson (Kathy), stepdaughter Linda Welch (Larry), grandchildren Danielle, Michelle, Brandon, Brian, Brenna, Kelly, Kaitlin and Emma, and nine great grandchildren. Rest in peace Grandpa Ed. We all love you.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday Sept. 18, 11:00 am, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 1279 High Street, Auburn, CA.
