1921-2012
A wonderful mother and grandmother passed away on July 21, 2012. Etta was born in Centerville, Kansas, on June 29, 1921. She spent most of her childhood in Kansas and then moved to Southern California with her family in the 1930’s. Etta and her husband, Gene Wesselman, were high school sweethearts at Huntington Park High School. They married in 1941 and celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary before he passed away in 1992.
During the first few years of married life, Etta and Gene resided in Maywood, California. While living there, Gene served in the Navy for the duration of WWII and 2 babies came along. The family moved to Pico-Rivera, California, in 1950 and it was the family home until Etta and Gene moved to Rocklin, California, in 1977.
Etta is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Almaguer (Frank), her son, Mark Wesselman (Joyce), 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Etta was a wonderful, nurturing stay-at-home mom. She was also a great cook and marvelous seamstress. She liked to sing, golf, bowl, square dance and play card games with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life was held for Etta on July 27, 2012, at Chapel of the Hills in Auburn, California. She will be dearly missed, but loving memories of her will always remain.
If you wish, donations may be made to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospice at 11775 Education Street, Suite 201, Auburn, CA 95602. They were wonderful.
