Genevieve “Gen” Page passed away peacefully on August 9, 2021, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Gene” Page. She was born and raised in Salinas, California. After graduating from Salinas High School, she was accepted into Stewardess Training but chose to get married. After five years in Salinas, the family moved to the Greenville/Taylorsville area and then to the Sacramento area in 1960. She married the love of her life Gene, in 1964.
A few weeks later they moved their blended family from Roseville to the ranch in Penryn. Gen was a stay at home mom until her youngest child started school. She enjoyed canning the fruit they grew on the ranch as well as making delicious pies and preserves. Gen worked at Newcastle Elementary School for 23 years. She enjoyed interacting with the children and cherished the many life-long friendships that she enjoyed with the faculty, parents and students. In retirement, she volunteered in the library at Newcastle Elementary School, for the Widowed Persons of Placer County, at the Assistance League Thrift Store in Auburn, and as an aide in the classroom at Gold Ridge Elementary School in Folsom. In 2013, she sold her ranch and moved to Sun City Roseville, where she enjoyed visiting with her neighbors, including their dogs for whom she always had treats at the ready.
Gen is survived by daughters Sharyn (Mike) Granville of Newcastle and Cheryl (Mike) Yates of Hidden Valley Lake; sons Brian (Cynthia) Page of Las Vegas and Leonard “Mike” Page of Elk Grove, and step-sons Dennis Page of Penryn and Larry Page of Folsom. She is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Roxie, Mary and all the staff at Senior Care Villa of Loomis for the care and compassion they gave our mother during her time there.
In honoring our mother’s request, no services will be held.
