Born in Vienna, Austria, Hilda came to America with her parents, sister and brother at a young age. They eventually settled in Southgate, in Southern California. She later married and moved to Northern California and lived in the Auburn area for more than 40 years.
Always strong willed and independent, Hilda used her skills to advance in the business world holding various jobs in banking, secretarial and bookkeeping. But her most important and meaningful “job” was with children. She delighted in caring for and raising children to be their best selves and to thrive. Whether it was her own child, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews or neighborhood friends and children, Hilda always welcomed them with open arms. Not only did she provide fun and lots of love but, she taught them the fundamentals of life, and to be strong, independent, kind, and caring.
She provided strength, guidance, kindness and compassion to her family and many others.
She will be remembered by all the family and friends whose lives she touched in a loving, supportive, and meaningful way.
