Ilene Beddie Johnson

Ilene B. Johnson was born in Amity, Arkansas on 16 October 1922 to Walter and Helen Dorsey. Ilene was married at a young age to Leroy Johnson (deceased) and together they raised three children, Joyce, Richard and Roy. Ilene and Leroy moved out to California in 1946 to Foresthill where LeRoy worked in the lumber industry for over 30 years. In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, Ilene worked in the “Hum Bug Cafe” on the boardwalk in Foresthill and also in the “Mountain Belle” variety store. She was very active in the Community Church and was a founding member of Canyon View Assembly church.

Ilene was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by many. She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly. Ilene’s family members include: her husband Leroy (deceased), a daughter Joyce Waters (Larry), her son’s Richard and Roy Johnson (Jackie); three sisters, Ila Fae Urban, Catherine Simpson (deceased), Linda York and two brothers, Leamon Dorsey (Alta), and Cloyce Dorsey(deceased).

Ilene had five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

A visitation will take place on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 3-5 pm at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Canyon View Assembly Church, 23221 Foresthill Rd., Foresthill, CA. Burial will follow at the Foresthill Community Cemetery, Church St., Foresthill, CA.
