

In the 79 years that Woody lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was a loving husband to Linda, a devoted father to Stephanie Perdue, Tracy Keller (Tim), Stepfather to Bob Evans (Andrea), and Janna Evans (Daya). He was a special “Papa” to Emma Perdue, Jack and Matt Keller, and Logan, Chase, Kaden and Reagan Evans. Woody had two brothers, Rick Hoffmann and Steve Hoffmann (Linda). Woody was a cherished friend by all who knew him. Jack was previously married to Patty Hoffmann who died young from cancer and to Valaine Hoffmann Donaghue.
Woody was a wonderful Christian man who thoroughly enjoyed being with his Christian Valley Church family. He loved spending time in fellowship at this warm and caring church.
Woody also loved his extended family. He totally looked forward to spending quality time together, especially in Carmel, which was his Happy Place. Woodys ashes will be scattered in the Carmel/Monterey Bay at a later time.
Woody was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam war and served on the USS Alamo. He was proud of his service. When Woody returned home, he received his BA degree in Business/Accounting at UCLA through his military educational allowance. Woody worked for CSUN and UCLA in the LA area in the finance field before moving to Auburn, California. Woody completed his career working for the Auburn Union School District for many years as their Director of Financial Operations. He has many dear friends from his employment there. Woody also assisted with the Tech Explorer STEM Project at Sierra College.
Woody really loved making a difference in the world. He proudly served as an Auburn Union School District Trustee for many years, he served on the Auburn Ed foundation board, the Acres of Hope board, and the Calvary Chapel Newcastle board. Woody was an active Auburn Kiwanis member for many years and was a Builders Club leader for many years at E.V. Cain School in Auburn.
Woody was loved by everyone that knew him and he is greatly missed. ‘’ woody loved the song “I’ll fly Away”. You got your wings Woody, fly free.”
A Celebration of Life in his honor will be held at Christian Valley Church at 1775 Grass Valley Highway in Auburn on January 24th at 1:30 PM. Please join us to honor this wonderful man.
