James Frederick Hare, Jr. of Auburn, Ca was born on September 3, 1935 to James and Evelyn Hare of Berkely CA. He passed away on April 19, 2022, surrounded by family. Jim was born in Berkeley CA, grew up on the ranch in the San Joaquin Valley, attended Fresno State University, had a long career working as a bridge engineer for the Bureau of Public Roads and Federal Highway Administration, retired then went to work for Caltrans until his second retirement. He has lived in Auburn for the last 32 years and is a member of Pioneer United Methodist Church.
Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years, Emily, and three children: Donald Hare (Barbara), Jeanette Walther and Karen Kesler (David), 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother Charles Hare (Barbara), sister Beatrice Smith, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held May 29, 2022, 3pm at Pioneer UMC. Private interment to follow.
