

Born on October 9, 1943 to Alexander and Ollie Lavarias in Oakland California, Jim went to be with his Lord at the age of 68 at his home in Auburn, on June 28th, 2011, with his loving wife Vera and family by his side after a long battle with cancer. Jim lived in Southern California for 20 years, before relocating to Auburn in 1981. Jim was a long time truck driver, and worked for Gould trucking, until relocating to Auburn in 1981, when he hired on with Jay Dee Transport Company. Jim served 2 years in the Army 101st Airborne Division. He loved the mountains where fishing and hunting were some of his greatest joys. He spent many years at Eagle Lake with family and friends, trying to catch the biggest fish.
Preceded in death by his father and mother. Survived by wife Vera, daughter Lisa Lavarias, son James Lavarias, five siblings; Betty Jones of Utah, brother John, sister Rose Olmsted, sister Marianne Rollemma and brother David, of Southern California, stepchildren; Rhonda, Brenda, and Lonnie, nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial services will be held at Auburn Grace Community Church, Friday, July 15, 2011 at 1:30 PM.
