Josephine Olivera Lema

Born in 1915 in Tehama, CA, Josephine lived most of her life in the foothills town of Auburn, CA. She was married to three husbands all of whom she survived, and was also known by the last names of Olivera, Gregory and Dixon.

Josephine worked at Sprouse-Reitz five and dime store for many years while living in Auburn and was loved by many of their customers. She loved to travel across the United States with her husband Lloyd Dixon, visiting many interesting sites as well as family. Josephine was generous with her time and resources with her family over the years. She is much appreciated for her loving devotion.

She is survived by her four grand children, Eric Gregory in Southern California, Stephen Gregory in Northern Florida, Michael Gregory and Jenifer Gregory in Northern California. A memorial service was held at Chapel of the Hills, Auburn, California on Monday, October 27, 2014 at 3:00 pm.

Josephine’s final resting place will be in Newcastle cemetery.
