Kathleen Marie Keck

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the much loved Kathy (Foss) Keck on April 6th, 2025. Kathy leaves behind a loving family and friends that will always remember her as “Forever the Caregiver.”

Kathy was born December 21st, 1946 to Jacob and Thelma Keck who proceeded her in death along with her brothers Daniel Keck and David Hegglin. Kathy is survived by her brother Bob Hegglin, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

The Keck’s, one of the first pioneer families to settle in the Colfax area in 1848. Kathy chose to live her life in Colfax and loved the area.

Kathy was an avid equestrian, lover of animals, Native American history and culture.

The family plans a private gravesite remembrance at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to your local “no kill” animal shelter.

Kathy believed her spirit animal would be the Buffalo. In her honor.

Advice from a buffalo: Stand your ground. Have a tough hide. Keep moving on. Cherish wide open spaces. Have a strong spirit, roam wide and free and let the chips fall where they may.
