Marion T. Glover was born March 17, 1929 in Kelso, Washington and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Marion was a graduate of Dutch Flat Grammar School and Placer High School. She lived a busy life including raising two wonderful children, who are now both teachers. She was employed at Cal-Ida Lumber Company in Auburn, then at Lausmann Lumber in Loomis as a bookkeeper. She then worked for Placer Savings in Rocklin, then promoted to Branch Manager/Assistant Vice President in Auburn. She retired in 1992.
Marion was proud of her participation in Soroptimist. She joined as a charter member in Rocklin-Loomis in 1964. She served as club President, District Director and Governor of the Sierra Nevada Region, President of the Soroptimist Foundation from 1992-1996, and finally served on the Soroptimist Board of Directors. Marion was also a member of the Navy League.
She is preceded in death by her father Edwin Francis Coltrin, and mother Julia Antoinette (Johnson) Coltrin. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jess Gibby Glover, son Gary Gilbert Glover, daughter Elizabeth Jeanne (Glover) Staton, brother Harmon Sam Coltrin, and 3 grandchildren, Evan, Paige, and Cameron Staton.
The family invites all to join them for a celebration of Marion’s life to be held February 8, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Auburn, 710 Auburn Ravine Road.
