

Surrounded by her loving family, Marva left this world in the comfort of her home, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born on July 21, 1938, and raised in Los Angeles, Marva was a proud alumna of St. Mary’s Academy an all-girls Catholic school. It was during her high school years that she met. David Smith, her future husband and the love of her life. They married shortly after her graduation and celebrated 67 wonderful years of marriage in June 2024. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures.
Marva was the heart and soul of her family serving as the matriarch who meticulously organized and orchestrated family events, holidays, and celebrations. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Each summer Marva and David would take their grandchildren on educational trips across California creating memories that spanned from exploring national parks like Yosemite, splunking through caves, and touring various factories such as jellybean, chocolate, and sticker factories to enjoying whale watching near Santa Cruz and attending the Gilroy Garlic Festival.
Their adventures also included renting houses at Donner Lake, Dillon’s Beach and Aptos Beach, riding Swan panel boats in BonFante Gardens, sliding at Manteca Water Slides and visiting Bodie Ghost Town. The family delighted in camping at several KOAs where their grandchildren even had fun with a candy claw machine. Marva's boundless energy and devotion to her family created a rich tapestry of memories that will be cherished forever.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, David Smith, her daughter, Lori, and her husband, Mike, her son Jeff, and his wife, Jonelle and Denny and his wife Sherry, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as her family grieves her passing they find solace in the belief that Marva is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior, rejoicing and eternal peace. Marva's love, spirit, and dedication to her family will be remembered always.
The family will be holding a private service.
