Mary Catherine Magee

September 22, 1949March 10, 2014

Passed away at her home on March 10, 2014 surrounded by loving family and friends. Born in Denver, Colorado, she lived in Alamosa, Co with her parents Robert and Frances Magee, and her brother Rob, before moving to Sacramento.

Mary attended college in Colorado and Oakland before receiving her RN from Samuel Merritt Nursing School. Then she completed her BSN at Sacramento State University. She spent the majority of her nursing career working at Sutter Memorial Hospital, taking brief intervals to work in Arkansas and to live in Spain.

Her many interests included Golfing, volunteering with Special Olympics, Boating, Riding Horses, and Travel. Mary was also a loyal member of the PEO sisterhood. Later in life she was involved in showing Llamas and doing activities with her active Boston Terrier, Murphy. Mary was very social and enjoyed many activities with her friends, wine-tasting, movies, plays, dinners out, and doggie play dates!

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and brother, as well as her loving partner Dot Muller. She is survived by her sister-in-law Sherry Magee of Carmichael, and nephew Kenny Muller, his wife Lisa, and their 2 children, Alexandria and Olivia, of Davis, Ca and several cousins. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of her amazing life will be held at the Folsom Rotary Club on April 5th at 1pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, Special Olympics, or the charity of your choice.

The family and friends of Mary would like to extend our appreciation to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, Siena Rehab Facility, and Hospice of Sutter VNA, for all of your care and compassion.

I just learned of Mary's passing in the current issue of Samuel Merritt Reporter. She graduated a year after I. I can still see Mary's smile as she easily found humor in everything.
My sincere condolences to all who grieve Mary.

Dear Family and Friends,
I am so sad to hear of Marys passing. We worked together in the ER for over 7 memorable years on the night shift. Full of hard work, tears and laughter. It is a blessing to have known Mary. Mary, may you be at peace.

I truly do not know what to say, other than you are going to be deeply missed. I will remember the small but very pleasant and funny conversations we would have in the hall while passing each other "both of us always working hard". It was an honor knowing you Mary. Fondly Denise Robinson
