Dick was a kind and wonderful man. I do not have enough space to list all of the great memories that I have of him and Bonnie. It was always Dick and Bonnie, like one person. The care and devotion that he provided for Bonnie in her last years was a testament to his character. I will miss him and always have him in my thoughts. Here is my favorite picture of them both. God Bless and Rest in Peace Mr. Ely.

Dad will always live in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much. We will miss talking to him, listening to him laugh and given/receiving hugs; but, the memories of a great man, father and husband will be with us for the rest of our lives.

I met Dick after Bonnie had died - he was my neighbor and we became friends
with each other.  He was a good cook and an excellent house keeper - he put me to shame with his domestic skills.  During our friendship, I met a lot of his family and enjoyed some nice with them when they were visiting - Dick was a true friend and always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.  I was happy when he started seeing Darlene and then they married.  By this time I had moved to Santa Cruz - but attended their wedding - and was glad to see how
much they were in love.  Eventually, they came to visit me in Santa Cruz and we enjoyed a meal together.  We remained friends and I talked with them often through Dick's illness.  God Bless and keep them.

Our Dad touched sooooooo many lives, and too many to list without missing someone. But, you know who you are ;-) ... A man who never knew a stranger and always stood with open arms to be a friend... A shining example... A Son, Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, Friend, he did it all... What A GREAT Person!!! I believe he's looking over my shoulder as I type, so I can state without reservation "His only fault, he was a Raider fan" ;-) .... With ALL our Love and Thoughts "WE LOVE YOU, DAD"....
