Dad it's been a little more than a year since you and Chris have passed. The hole in my heart hasn't grown any smaller, I miss you both more than ever.

I missed you today, grandfather. I know you're keeping a watchful eye.

Dick was a friend.  We played bridge, traveled to our time share "The Embarcadero" in Newport, went to his home often and they came to Cliff and my home often.  I have missed him the last couple of years and cried when I saw at church he had died.  What a sweet man.  We knew Dottie and Betty and enjoyed meeting his family over a period of 20 years.  May his memory be keep alive by his family and friends and many thanks to Lynn and family for taking such good care of him.

Dick was more than just a friend. He welcomed us into his family with open arms and a big warm smile. He was kind and intelligent with a great sense of humor. He kept his mind sharp with chess, bridge and Pente, also with the use of his computer. He liked to walk his dog and work in his garden for exercise. We remember him climbing onto the roof to make sure that the roofers did a good job when he was 90 years old. He seemed invincible. He will be missed by all that knew him.
We will remember him with great affection and admiration for being a genuinely terrific man.

I so appreciate the opportunity for Dad to spend the last year and a half of his life living with us. His charm, wit and humor were always with him.
 As a child he taught me by example and it wasn't until I got older did I realize what a rare and precious father I had. His soft, gentle nature was always there to guide and comfort me. 
Our home isn't the same without my dad. I miss him playing the piano, he loved it and so did I. There are so many things I will miss about him.
I take comfort in knowing he was well loved and cared for living with us. I cherish the time together.
I love you so much Dad...you took a piece of my heart with you but I look forward to the day we meet again.

I will always remember my Uncle Richard for his kindness, intelligence, and gentle demeanor.   He was a man who served his country and honored his family with much love.  We  know that he is now with our heavenly Father.

Grandad was the epitome of patriarch. His wisdom and knowledge has been passed along to us all, but most importantly to his son, and our new patriarch, my dad. Grandad, you are truly loved by us all and until we meet again we will miss you.

It's rare that a soul like my Granddad's gets to spend as much time on Earth as he did. His presence was comforting, his words reassuring, and his actions loving. My Granddad taught multiple generations about kindness, resourcefulness and the importance of hard work and effort. Everyone in our family is lucky to have had a role model as amazing as our Granddad. We love you lots, Granddad.

My father, Richard Shave, humble, gentle and quiet; but, strong and peaceful.  He was certainly a man of the Greatest Generation. He worked hard, served his country and always cared more about his family than himself. He set an  example that is hard to beat. He is my hero, I love him deeply and miss him greatly.
