Rita Elizabeth Meyer

Rita Elizabeth Meyer passed away 9/4/2020, 2 weeks before her 91st birthday. Rita was born 9/16/29 in Elrosa, Minnesota to Anton and Ann Meyer. Rita was one of 7 children. She graduated in 1946 as the valedictorian from Grey Eagle High School and went on to graduate from St. Cloud Business College. In the late 1950’s she moved from Minneapolis, MN to San Francisco, CA where she worked as a trust officer for the Bank of California for over 20 years, accumulating many friends. She later moved to Alameda where she found a love of bingo and bowling, bowling into her late 70s.

Rita loved to travel. Destinations included Australia, New Zealand, Italy, England, The Caribbean, Panama Canal, Mexico, Canada and many US states. She moved to Auburn in 2012 to be near to her sister, Jo Ann.

She is survived by sisters Rosemary Kalkman (Donald) of Owatonna, MN; Dorothy Slimmer of Little Falls, MN; and Jo Ann Rutter of Auburn, CA and three generations of nieces and nephews.

A Catholic mass and burial will be held in MN. Thank you to Auburn Ravine Terrace employees for your wonderful care of Rita.
