Sarah Marie Ratledge Sisemore

Began her earthly life - September 24, 1933 Entered her eternal rest February 26, 2019 Aged 85 years

Marie was born in Larned Kansas and is the second of three children born to William Franklin Ratledge and Mary Elsie Butrum Ratledge.

Marie as she was called, was the beautiful high school sweetheart, and wife of Richard J. Sisemore. They were married on September 2, 1950 in Reno, NV. Marie not yet being 17 had snuck away with Richard to be married coming back only to continue living apart for a time in fear of telling the parents. They continued to live as husband and wife for nearly 65 years until Richard’s passing on April, 4, 2015. After Richard’s passing Marie moved to Marysville, CA to live with her son Bob and his wife Loida. She lived with them until an ischemic bowel began to hospitalize her repeatedly and more care was required. Marie’s passing was a direct result of complications from this very painful disease. Marie had one younger brother William (Bill) Ratledge, and one older sister Lois Ratledge Williamson, five sons, Richard Lee, Robert Glynn and wife Loida, Ronald Joel, Randall Blake and wife Stephanie, Royce Guy, and 5 five grandchildren, Beau Sisemore, Chrissy Mulder, Caitlyn Jung, Christopher Roy-Vannatta, and Cayleigh Sisemore, and great grandchildren. Marie had a difficult life losing two of her sons prior to her own passing. Her third son Ronny died in a motorcycle accident involving an illegal drunk driver on Oct. 24, 1978, and her youngest son Royce passed on April 7, 2016 as a result of liver failure. Marie’s last days were spent in Rideout Memorial Hospital with her two sons Robert and Randall by her side. Her oldest son Richard Lee as a result of living in Colorado could not be present, but had been out to see her for 2 weeks during the summer of 2018. On Saturday February 23, 2019 due in large to the pain she was experiencing from the ischemic bowel she made the difficult decision not to have a 2nd bowel resection. Instead, she elected to receive comfort care at the hospital in order to relieve the pain, go to sleep, and pass quietly. Our mother will be missed, but heaven has gained a wonderful, beautiful soul who is now, and will forever more, experience the joys of our God's blessed presence.
