Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts, Tammy Rae Middleton, age 54, passed away with her family by her side at her childhood home in Foresthill, California on August 11, 2019. Tammy was born in Auburn, Ca on November 12th, 1964 to Gene and Carlen Henry. She married her childhood sweetheart, Mark Middleton July 9th, 1983. Together they had 3 children, Meagen, Whitney, and Zachary, and Tammy’s kind heart took in many other children throughout the years.
Although we will greatly miss her on this earth, it brings us peace of mind knowing she has been reunited with family and friends that she has not seen in years. She is proceeded in death by both parents Gene and Carlen Henry, brothers Michael Henry, Keith Henry, and Jeffrey Bauthier, nieces Melissa McKibbons and baby Taylor Rae, and nephew Michael Santos.
Tammy loved everyone she met, she couldn’t be unkind, if she tried. She enjoyed camping with friends and family every chance she got. She had many hobbies including but not limited to, crafting, gardening, dancing, and sports. Many people still know her as Mamma Llama, for her time in a coed league playing with her adult children.
She worked at the local Headstart preschool for over 20 years and also was an elementary school bus driver for many of those same years. This is where she gained another “A.K.A” as Teacher Tammy. To say the least, she was well known, respected and loved by most school age kids at one time. Her bright smile and soft, kind words made any person old or young feel comfortable and at home around her. She was forced to resign from teaching when her health took a turn for the worse in early 2018, and she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was a true warrior throughout her fight never letting her circumstances dim her bright personality. In true Tammy form, she was worried about everyone else around her until her last days on earth.
She is survived by her husband, Mark; daughters and son, Meagen, Whitney, and Zachary; Brother, Robby Henry his children, Chelsey, and Jacob; Uncles, Mike, Dave and Wally; Grandbabies, Bryce, Ava, Dixie, and Dusti, several cousins, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews from her large loving family, and of course the many people whose lives she has touched in one way or another throughout her life.
Tammy said, that if you want to, you can look for her in the evening sunset or with the earliest spring sunflowers or amongst the flittering and fluttering butterflies. You know she’ll be there in one form or another.
Friends and family are invited to join us to celebrate the life of this beautiful woman 1pm Saturday September 28th, 2019 at the Veterans Memorial Hall at 24601 Harrison Street, Foresthill, Ca 95631.
