Walter was raised in Montana. He spent his young adult life in the SF Bay Area and then enjoyed a long and leisurely retirement at the top of a Weimar hill in the home he built with his wife Maurine in 1975. There they created a place where everyone came to play, relax, and to be with family. He shared his love of fishing, shooting pool, gardening, wine-making, cooking and card-playing with all. To be loved by him was an amazing thing and he will never be forgotten.
